Terms of Use
Last updated: October 5, 2026

Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Butterfly AI LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) for the FloatAI Android application (the “App”). By downloading, installing, or using FloatAI, you agree to these Terms and to Google Play’s terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Privacy details are in our Privacy Policy. These Terms also serve as the End User License Agreement (EULA) for FloatAI.

The App

FloatAI puts a floating microphone over other apps. You tap it, speak, and the transcript can be typed at the cursor of the field you are using. If insertion is off, or nothing is focused, the text is shown with a Copy button. You can also save notes and review transcription history in the App.

Basic mode transcribes on your device after you download a speech model. Speed and Accurate modes send the recording to our servers for transcription. Results depend on your speech, language, network, and device. We do not guarantee that every transcript is complete, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose, including medical, legal, or safety-critical use.

Text insertion uses Android’s Accessibility API only for the focused text field, and only after you turn that feature on. The floating bubble uses permission to display over other apps. You can turn either permission off in Android settings.

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use FloatAI on Android devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use, subject to these Terms and Google Play’s rules.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, rent, sell, or redistribute the App except where the law does not allow this restriction.

Accounts

Some features ask you to sign in with Google or email. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping access to that Google or email account. We may refuse or close an account that breaks these Terms.

Subscriptions

Some features are free. Paid Life Talk plans are auto-renewing subscriptions sold by Google Play, for example:

The price, billing period, and what the plan includes are shown in the App and on Google Play before you confirm the purchase. Payment is charged to your Google Play account.

Refunds are handled by Google under Google Play’s refund policies. We do not process your card payment.

Acceptable use

Your content

You keep ownership of the speech you record and the text you create. You give us a limited license to process that content only so we can provide the feature you used, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for what you dictate and for where you insert it.

Intellectual property

FloatAI, its name, branding, and software are owned by Butterfly AI LLC or its licensors. Third-party components, including speech models and Google services, remain under their own licenses. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property to you.

Disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT TRANSCRIPTION WILL BE ERROR-FREE, THAT TEXT WILL INSERT INTO EVERY APP, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUTTERFLY AI LLC IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR FLOATAI SUBSCRIPTIONS IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.

Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the extent the law allows.

Termination

You may stop using FloatAI at any time and uninstall it. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms. A Google Play subscription continues until you cancel it.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. If you keep using the App after the change, you accept the updated Terms.
