AirPod is an Android companion app for AirPods and similar wireless headphones. It shows battery and connection status from Bluetooth broadcasts on your phone. It is not an Apple product and is not affiliated with Apple Inc.

Information we process

Bluetooth headphone status

If you grant Bluetooth permissions, AirPod reads nearby Bluetooth Low Energy advertisements from compatible headphones. That can include battery level, charging state, in-ear detection, case lid state, and signal strength. This information is processed on your device so the app can show status, optional popups, automations, and the home-screen widget.

Android may label nearby-device access as a location-related permission. AirPod does not use Bluetooth data to determine or track your geographic location.

Paired device identity

If you choose a main device, AirPod may store its Bluetooth address and model on your phone so it can recognize your headphones. This stays on the device.

App settings

Preferences such as monitor mode, auto play/pause, auto connect, and popup options are stored locally on your device.

Subscriptions and Google Play

AirPod Pro is sold as a Google Play subscription (monthly product ID airpod_pro_monthly, yearly product ID airpod_pro_yearly). Google Play processes payment and subscription status. We do not receive your full payment card details. Google’s handling of purchase data is described in Google’s Privacy Policy.

Optional debug logs

If you turn on debug logging, AirPod can write a local log file that may include Bluetooth device details. Logs stay on your device until you share them. Only share a log with someone you trust, such as support.
